How do I choose music for my wedding video?

Think about the feeling you want when you watch it back in 10 years. The song sets the whole emotional tone of the film. Pick one that means something to you as a couple — not necessarily the most popular song, but the right song. Use this chart to find what other couples have chosen, preview each track, and bookmark your favourites. You can choose different songs for different parts of your film.

What are the most popular first dance songs for weddings?

Based on the couples we have filmed across Northern Ireland and Ireland, the most chosen first dance songs right now are Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis), A Thousand Years (Christina Perri), Hello My Love (Westlife), Beautiful Crazy (Luke Combs) and Thinking Out Loud (Ed Sheeran). What songs are best for a father daughter dance?

The most popular daddy daughter dance songs we see at weddings are Father and Daughter (Paul Simon), Butterfly Kisses (Bob Carlisle), My Little Girl (Tim McGraw), Daddy's Little Girl (The Shires) and I Loved Her First (Heartland). What songs should I play walking into the reception?

This is one of the most exciting decisions of the whole day, and couples are putting real thought into it. You are not just picking a song, you are styling a moment. We have filmed bridal parties walking in to Shots (LMFAO) carrying bottles and pouring them into guests' mouths. We have filmed couples arriving in cowboy hats and lasso ropes to Garth Brooks. The song tells the room who you are before you even say a word. Pick something that is completely, unapologetically you. Can I use any song in my wedding video?

For your private film, yes. For anything shared publicly, such as your highlights video, commercial music is technically copyright protected. We use a licensed music library for all highlights films we deliver, so you and we are both fully covered.

What music is best for getting ready on the morning?

There are two parts to this. For the room on the morning, your actual getting-ready playlist, you want something that sets the mood for the group. Upbeat and celebratory works brilliantly, as does something personal and meaningful to you and your girls. That is entirely your choice and your vibe. For the video, the music we lay over your getting-ready footage is a different decision. It needs to feel warm and intimate, something that holds the emotion of that morning without overpowering it. A Thousand Years, Photograph (Ed Sheeran) and Bloom (The Paper Kites) all work beautifully here. You can choose that in the chart above under Girls getting ready.

How many songs do I need to choose for my wedding film?

We suggest choosing up to 11. You will not use all of them in every film, but having choices means we can match the perfect song to each scene.

What is the most popular wedding song right now?

Based on our live chart of real couple choices, Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis has held the number one spot for the past 12 months across all wedding moments.
