The questions every couple asks
about their wedding music.

Answered honestly, from 15 years of filming weddings. The music choices couples stress about most, with real answers based on what we have watched work — and what we have watched fall flat — across 400+ wedding films.

How do I choose music for my wedding video?

Think about the feeling you want when you watch it back in 10 years. The song sets the whole emotional tone of the film. Pick one that means something to you as a couple — not necessarily the most popular song, but the right song. Use this chart to find what other couples have chosen, preview each track, and bookmark your favourites. You can choose different songs for different parts of your film.

What are the most popular first dance songs for weddings?

Based on the couples we have filmed across Northern Ireland and Ireland, the most chosen first dance songs right now are Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis), A Thousand Years (Christina Perri), Hello My Love (Westlife), Beautiful Crazy (Luke Combs) and Thinking Out Loud (Ed Sheeran). Filter the chart above by "First dance" to see them all, and preview each one before you decide.

What songs are best for a father daughter dance?

The most popular daddy daughter dance songs we see at weddings are My Girl (The Temptations), Unforgettable (Nat King Cole), Wind Beneath My Wings (Bette Midler), Angels (Robbie Williams) and You Raise Me Up (Josh Groban). We call it the Parents Dance in our chart — because not every dad is there, and mum deserves her moment too. Filter by "Parents dance" above to see them all.

What songs should I play walking into the reception?

This is the most underrated music decision of the whole wedding. You want something upbeat, joyful and immediately recognisable — the whole room needs to react the second it starts. Top choices we film: I Gotta Feeling (Black Eyed Peas), Can't Take My Eyes Off You (Frankie Valli), Everlasting Love, Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (Starship). Filter by "Walking into the room" above.

Can I use any song in my wedding video?

For your private film — yes. For anything you share publicly on social media, commercial music is technically copyright protected. We use licensed music libraries for the films we deliver, so everything is fully covered. If you want a specific song that isn't in our library, talk to us — we will do our best to source it properly for you.

What music is best for getting ready on the morning?

Getting ready footage looks beautiful with warm, intimate songs — something that feels like a Sunday morning with your favourite people. A Thousand Years, Bloom (The Paper Kites), Photograph (Ed Sheeran) and I'm Yours (Jason Mraz) all work beautifully here. Something gentle but emotional — because that morning goes by faster than you think.

How many songs do I need to choose for my wedding film?

We suggest choosing up to 11 — one for each key moment in your day. You will not use all of them in every film, but having choices means we can match the perfect song to each scene. The highlights film typically uses 1-2 songs. The full feature film uses 4-6 across different sections. The more you tell us about your taste, the better the result.

What is the most popular wedding song right now?

Based on our live chart of real couple choices, Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis has held the number one spot for the past 12 months across all wedding moments. For getting ready it is A Thousand Years. For first dance it is Hello My Love (Westlife). For room entrance it is I Gotta Feeling.
